I’ve been a member on Amigos.com for a couple of months and have found the experience to be well worth the time and effort needed in order to find friends… One of the biggest appeals of this site is the vast membership base including many Latin American countries. I have been sought out by folks in Spain, Argentina, Colombia as well as folks in the states – California, Connectict, NY. I truly have appreciated having this site as a resource to reach out to folks I would have probably never run into here in TX. Also the added featurews of “Magazine” and “blogs” really enhance the experience of making connections with others. It also provides an opportnity to enhance your profile by participating on article responses. It’s a great way to show yourself in action when giving advice. I’m looking forward to August when I will be able to meet my special friend from Spain. After that visit, then i will truly have a ‘success story” to comment.

I joined Amigos.com hoping to meet someone special for marriage. I was browsing profiles when I saw Mercedes … I added Mercedes to my hotlist hoping to someday chat with her. Within a couple of days I found her online. We chatted for about 5 minutes because she was at work and was ready to go home for the day. Anyways we ended up talking again on April 9 … and after many many chats and many many telephone conversations, I asked her to marry me. We set the date for Sept 2 and I went down to Ecuador August 19 to meet her in person. We were married on September 2 and had a very nice, big wedding.

Nancy and I who met on Amigos.com were married in Miami on July 24, 2005. She was in Colombia and I in Atlanta, Georgia. We met in Bogota on May 20, 2003 and I returned six times while we waited for her visa. We have traveled to Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil. We are very very happy. I originally just joined because my friend did not have a credit card and I paid with mine. Since he was already a member, I did a search on Gabriel Garcia-Marquez and the profile “Magadelmar” came up. We wrote several times and I had one free night in Bogota. We fell in love immediatley.
